Invitation Charter for  Green Model Polling Booths released

Ferozepur, May 21, 2024: Invitation Charter for  Green Model Polling Booths was released today by ARO  Guruharsahai.
As per the directives of the Election Commission for the 7th Phase of the Punjab Lok Sabha Elections 2024, a special initiative has been launched to promote environmental awareness among voters.
District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh Dhiman and Assistant Returning Officer cum Sub Divisional Magistrate Gagandeep Singh have issued instructions to establish super green model polling booths.
These green model polling booths will be set up in villages Chak MobainHardo Dhandi Lalchian, Jhandu Wala of  Guruharsahai constituency with special contribution of Bir Society Faridkot. The initiative aims to educate and inspire voters about the importance of environmental conservation while they participate in the democratic process.
In a special meeting with the management team, an invitation charter was released to the voters of the constituency along with district administrative officers for paying visit to grace the ocassion by the Assistant Returning Officer of Constituency Guru Harsahai.
The green polling booths will feature water-sprinkler services using earthen pots, indoor and outdoor plants for a cool green atmosphere. Additionally, exhibitions on plastic recycling, birdhouses, and family selfie stands will be set up to promote environmental protection. Gurpreet Singh Saran, the Special Manager at these polling booths and chief functionary of Bir Society, highlighted these features.
Under the leadership of Gurpreet Singh, Block Officer of the Forest Department, points for the distribution and maintenance of saplings will be established. The goal is to increase voter turnout and raise awareness about environmental protection through these innovative polling stations.
Prominent Punjabi scholars Jagtar Singh Sokhi, Sarinder Kamboj, Karanveer Singh Sodhi, teachers Manjit Kaur Sodhi, Jasveer Kaur Mann, and Rashpal Singh Mann are contributing their services to ensure the success of this initiative. Key figures present at the event included Supdt Kewal Krishan, Sachin Kandhari, Kulwinder Singh, Kashish Doda Booth Level Officer, Constituency Level Master Trainer Sandeep Sharma, Master Madan Lal, Sukhjinder Singh Teji, SVEEP Coordinator Parvinder Singh Lalchian, Gurinder Gary, and Gurvinder Singh Sodhi.
