Ferozepur, April 8, 2024:  The Ferozepur police have busted a vehicle lifters’ gang with the recovery of stolen three-wheelers and motorcycles. According to the police, the accused are habitual offenders and used to sell the stolen bikes after installing fake number plates.

Holding a press conference, SSP Soumiya Mishra said that to curb the crime incidents by thieves and bad elements, various teams have been constituted under Randhir Kumar, SP(I), Sukhwinder Singh, DSP City and Harinder Singh, SHO City.  On April 6, Sharma Singh a police official got a secret tip-off that Gurdeep Singh and Rakesh Kumar of Ferozepur City were habitual vehicle lifters in different cities and further sold the stolen vehicles by tampering with the engine and chassis numbers and fake registration certificates.  Working swiftly on the inputs, the two accused were nabbed on a motorcycle, having no valid documents.  On investigation, it came to the surface that four three-wheelers had been parked along the civil hospital side and looking for the customers.

SSP further said a police remand for three days was obtained and during the investigation and following the information obtained from the accused during questioning, the police recovered 5 more motorcycles from their possession, making a total recovery of 12 three-wheelers and 6 motorcycles.
