CI-BSF in joint operation seized 1.5 kg of Ice Drug
Ferozepur, December 8: In a breakthrough against drug smuggling, the Counter Intelligence (CI) team of Ferozepur, under the directives of Lakhbir Singh, AIG Counter Intelligence, recovered 1.5 kg heroin of ICE drugs during a joint operation with the Border Security Force (BSF).
ICE is a street name for crystal methamphetamine, a highly addictive and potent stimulant drug.
Based on a tip-off, Sub-Inspector Rajwant Singh led a joint search operation with the 160 Battalion of BSF in the Dhani Natha Singh Wali area, falling under the jurisdiction of PS Sadar Jalalabad in Fazilka district. The contraband was discovered concealed in the agricultural land of Joginder Singh, son of Gulzar Singh, a resident of the same village.
Preliminary investigations suggest the drugs were delivered by Pakistani smugglers using drones. An FIR (No. 28) has been lodged at PS SSOC Fazilka under sections 21-C, 22, 29, 30/61/85 of the NDPS Act against unknown individuals. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend Indian smugglers involved in ordering the consignment from Pakistan.
The operation is part of a larger anti-drug initiative by Counter Intelligence Ferozepur to curb cross-border smuggling.
