Ferozepur: 9 deaths, 241 new COVID-19 +ve cases reported
Ferozepur, May 24, 2021: On Monday, 9 deaths due to Covid-19 and 241 new cases have been reported with recovery of 240 persons.
Three containment – 2 at Ferozepur and one at Ferozepur Urban and 25 micro-containment zones – 6 at Mamdot, 6 Guruharshai, 3 Ferozshah, 3 Kssoana, 7 Ferozepur Urban are still monitoring.
With sudden spike in cases and mortality rate during the second wave of pandemic this month, have made people repose their faith in testing and vaccination and the district administration has made an appeal to all follow the Covid protocols to eradicate this virus and come forward for vaccination which is the only tool now available to be safe from this virus and stop its further spread,
As per the report, 1,60,028 samples were taken, since the outbreak of virus, out of which 1,48,092 were negative, 11,786 positive, 9,785 were recovered while 1,652 are active cases and reports of 150 samples are,, still awaited.
With 9 deaths today in the age group of 50-85 years are of five females and four males in Mamdot, Ferozepur Urban, Ferozshah and Makhublocks taking the totally of deaths to 359.
In the vaccination drive, 1,164 have been given vaccination of 18-44 years today taking the total to 7,794 and 1,164 to 45 plus age including the frontline and health workers taking the total vaccination figure to 99,673.
