Cheating using concealed Bluetooth device in Punjab Pharmacist Officer Recruitment Exam surfaced

Ferozepur, July 19, 2026:  A major cheating racket was allegedly uncovered during the Punjab Pharmacist Officer recruitment examination conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) on Sunday. Certain candidates reported to have been detained after they were allegedly found using concealed Bluetooth devices to receive answers during the written test.

The examination, conducted for the recruitment of 454 Pharmacist Officers in the Punjab Health and Family Welfare Department, was held at centres in Faridkot, Kotkapura and Ferozepur, with nearly 7,000 candidates appearing.

Acting on a tip-off about an organised cheating network, university authorities, with assistance from the police, sealed the examination centres and carried out extensive searches. Officials suspect that candidates were receiving answers through Bluetooth devices linked to accomplices outside the centres via mobile phones.

As per the sources, three cadidates in Ferozepur also reported to have used the Bluetooth device and the detained candidates are being questioned, while police are investigating the alleged mastermind behind the racket. No official statement or FIR had been issued, despite calling the senior police officials, till the filing of this report.
