Unlicensed fertilizer stock seized in Ferozepur; godown owner booked
Ferozepur, November 13, 2024: The agriculture department has unearned unlicensed fertilizers stored in a godown of Puneet Bansal, owner of Aggarwal Khad Store in Rikhi Colony, Ferozepur. After the recovery, the owner was booked after authorities uncovered an unauthorised stockpile of fertilizers in his godown.
During the last week, the Chief Agriculture Officer, District Manager and FSO Markfed were also placed under suspension for concealing the DAP stocks despite its demand by the farmers.
During an inspection, officials found 997 bags of urea and 890 bags of potash fertilizer from various manufacturers. Bansal failed to produce the required license or bills for the stored fertilizers, prompting officials to register a case against him.
Baldev Singh has been appointed as the Investigating Officer in the case. No arrests have been made yet. Meanwhile, Bansal is booked under Section 4 of the Fertilizer (Control) Order of 1985 and Section 3(2)7 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
