Death with Dignity: FWC gives dignity to dead, cremated 1,800 unclaimed dead bodies
Ferozepur, December 10, 2023: Ferozepur Welfare Club (FWC), which gives dignity to unclaimed dead bodies, is exclusively working for the cremation of unknown, from road accident victims to those found dead along railway racks, from victims of suicide to homeless people found dead on roadsides, unclaimed dead bodies with full dignity. It was established in 2000 and so far it has cremated around 1,800 dead unknown bodies including 30 Muslims in Ferozepur, irrespective of caste or religion.
Ramesh Lal Gupta, a Vastu Shastra Expert from Amritsar was the chief guest of the event. Present among others were Ramesh Sethi, Manager, of Blind Home, Suman Sharma, City Palace, Babaljit Singh Vice President, Deepak Gupta, Secretary, Ashok Gupta, former President MC and others.
Ramesh Lal Gupta said FWC deserves all outstanding appreciation for this tireless and selfless social work.
Prithvi, a senior member said, “During the year 2023, we have so far cremated 50 dead bodies mostly of poor families. Not only this, our club also organizes the ‘Havan’ in memory of Dev Raj Sharma, Patron for the peace of the dead bodies and even the mortal remains are also immersed at the Ganga in Haridwar followed by a joint prayer for peace to the departed souls.
FWC has been a selfless social organization since 2000 in giving decent farewells to unclaimed bodies found in the city. Every deceased person is given a bath and cremated after rituals. God has chosen us for this noble cause and we will continue to do this until we are alive.
