Pak based SBS Memorial Foundation pays tributes on 83rd death anniversary of Udham Singh
Ferozepur/Lahore, July 31, 2023: On 83rd death anniversary of Shaheed Udhan Singh, <span;>Pak based Shaheed Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation led by Chairman, Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi, paid heartfelt tributes at Democratic Lawn of Lahore High Court Bar Association Lahore by lighting candles as a mark of respect.
Giving this information, Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi said that Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation has decided to celebrate Shaheed Udham Singh’s Martyrdom Day. Like Bhagat Singh, he also sacrificed his life for the freedom of the country.
Added here, Wednesday is a special day in the life of Shaheed Uodham Singh. On Wednesday, Michelle O’Dwyer was hanged, sentenced on 31 July 1940 at London’s Penton Valley Prison and cremated the same day. His dead body was brought to India during the tenure of Punjab Chief Minister Giani Zail Singh fulfilling the the aim of his life. Shaheed Udham Singh’s last rites took place in India after 34 years on Wednesday 31 July 1974 at the Olympic Stadium in his native village Sunam.
Qureshi is also fighting in the court of law, to prove the innocence of Bhagat Singh also as his and name is his associates Rajguru and Sukhdev did not appear in the FIR, on the basis of which they were hanged. Apart, he is is also pursuing to rename Shadman chowk as Bhagat Singh chowk in Lahore, seeking apology from British govt on this account and giving the highest award to these martyrs by both India and Pakistan governments.
Tributes were offered by lighting candles and the ceremony was led by Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi, Chairman Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan, Raja Zulqarnain Advocate and former Secretary Supreme Court Bar Association, Noor Muhammad Kasuri, Chairman Pak India Business Council Pakistan, Syed Almas Haider Kazmi, Advocates Mian Muhammad Bashir, Jalil Ahmad Khan Othi, Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf Cheema Advocate, Qamar Anjum Iqbalani Seth Bashir Ahmed, Mian Ghulamullah Khan Joya, Manzoor Ali Bhatti, Dr. Shahid Naseer Chaudhry Mehboob, Advocate, Yawar Maqbool and others.
