Recovery of 7 mobile phones exposes from jail exposes security chinks
Ferozepur, August 1, 2021: Seven mobile phones and one charger, have been recovered from inside the jail during the search operation inside the barracks of jail.
With the frequently smuggling in of banned items especially the mobile phones have raised a question mark over the lapse in security arrangements at the entry points and the purpose of keeping the prisoners away from social contacts as punishment, is also lost. Few days back one Wader was also held for recovery of banned items including the mobile. During the last year, 112 mobiles were recovered and during the current year so far 99 mobile have been recovered including 7 of today. As a precautionary measures for air route throw, the high walls have been raised with electric wire fencing.
As per the details, during the search operation carried out by Satnam Singh, Assistant Superintendent, at barrack number 11, 6 mobiles of different brands were recovered with battery and SIM Cards – 4 touch screen and 2 key padand one charger. Another one mobilenof Samsung key pady with battery and SIM Card was recovered from barrack number 4 during the search of prisoner under trail Rakesh Kumar standing nearby.
Meanwhile, a case under Prisons Act has been registered against unidentified persons and one prisoner under trial Rakesh Kumar and inquiry is on with Baldev Singh, IO.
