Ferozepur, May 29, 2025: In a heartwarming gesture that embodies patriotism beyond age, 10-year-old Shravan Singh, a class 4 student from Tara Wali village, located just a kilometre from the Indo-Pak border, in Mamdot block, has become an overnight sensation after a picture of him being felicitated by Major General Ranjit Singh Manral went viral on social media.
The image, shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Brigadier Hardeep Singh Sohi, Shourya Chakra (R) shows Shravan proudly receiving a certificate of appreciation and a memento from the Army for his selfless service during Operation Sindoor with his father Sona Singh. Shravan’s mother was beaming with pride as her son was not afraid, who too wants to be a soldier one day.
Despite his young age, Shravan rose to the occasion With unwavering spirit, he assisted the troops by serving them milk, lassi, water, and other essential supplies—often navigating the high-tension zone without fear.
While we were securing the area, this little boy came forward daily with supplies for the jawans. His innocence, courage, and sense of duty touched everyone.
Operation Sindoor, carried out by the 7th Infantry Division, turned the otherwise quiet border village into a temporary military hotspot. The young boy’s simple act of kindness reminded all of the human spirit that thrives even in the toughest times.
Citizens across the country have responded with admiration, praising Shravan’s bravery and calling him an inspiration for youth. As the border village returns to calm, Shravan’s gesture will be remembered as a bright spot in a tense operation, highlighting that heroes come in all ages.
