Progressive Federation for Blind to celebrate World Disability Day in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, November 28, 2024: Progressive Federation for the Blind (PFB), Punjab Unit has decided to celebrate World Disability Day at Home for the Blind on December 2 and 3, said Anil Gupta, Secretary.
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is an international festival promoted by the United Nations since 1992. It has been celebrated with varying degrees of success worldwide.
Social worker Vipul Narang, known as the Yes Man, who is always ready to help any needy section, today donated Rs 21,000 as financial assistance to celebrate World Disability Day. He is a regular donor for the welfare of visually impaired persons; earlier he donated one e-Rikshaw, sports kits, and musical instruments. Being a rare A-negative blood group, he has also donated blood more than 50 times.
Anil Gupta said that during World Disabled Day celebrations, various visually impaired persons from all over Punjab will attend events like Seminars, Quiz Competitions, Singing, and a Cricket Match. A Souvenir highlighting the problems and measures for disabled persons and dedicated to the blind community will also be released during the celebrations.
Ashok Behal, Secretary of, Red Cross Society was also present on this occasion.
