Ferozepur police seizes over 1kg Heroin, arrests accused
Ferozepur, November 27, 2024: In a significant breakthrough, the Ferozepur police, led by their Special Task Force (CIA), apprehended an accused with 1.364 kilograms of heroin and a white Honda Activa scooter without a registration number. The arrest was made on November 24, 2024, based on actionable intelligence, by a team of Fateh Singh Brar, DSP(D) and Mohit Dhawan, Incharge CIA staff under the tutelage of Randhir Kumar, SP(D).
The accused has been identified as, Arshdeep Singh, son of Balwinder Singh, a resident of Jattawali, under Malwal police station jurisdiction in Ferozepur district. A case (FIR No. 121) has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) at the Cantt Police Station, Ferozepur.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Soumya Mishra, IPS, informed that the operation was part of a larger strategy to crack down on anti-social and drug-related activities. She emphasized that the district police are committed to taking swift action against those attempting to disrupt law and order. Special teams have been deployed under the supervision of senior officials to monitor and act against illegal activities in the district.

The seized heroin has been sent for further investigation, and questioning of the accused is ongoing. The police are actively pursuing leads to dismantle the broader drug network connected to this case.
SSP Mishra assured that such actions are part of an ongoing effort to maintain law and order in the district and to ensure that offenders are brought to justice. She reiterated the commitment of the police force to safeguard the community from such nefarious activities.
