Licences of 2 medical stores suspended in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, December 1, 2023: To ensure the availability of good quality medicines and keep a check on the sale of habit-forming drugs, licences of as many as two medical stores have been placed under suspension in Ferozepur district one each at Ferozepur City and Talwandi Bhai, on finding some serious irregularities.
As per the information, during the investigation conducted by the drug inspector in Ferozepur City, irregularities were found on a large scale in two drug stores.
Giving information in this regard, Drug Inspector Sonia Gupta said that drugs worth Rs.30,000 were taken from Babeke Medical Store Talwandi Bhai and medicines of the value of Rs.6 lacs were seized from RS Pharma Ferozepur, found without any bill/purchase.
She said that the rules were being violated by these shops and Assistant Commissioner Kharar has suspended the license of Babake Medical Store for 30 days and the license of RS Medical Store for three months.
The health department has decided to intensify its crackdown on medicine shops found to be flouting norms issued from time to time through different orders and notifications. Meanwhile, she issued instructions to all the medical stores to work according to the rules.
