Police, BSF in joint operation recover 11.120 kg heroin worth Rs.55.60 crore
Ferozepur, August 11, 2021: In two operations, the Narcotic Cell of Ferozepur police in a joint operation with the Border Security Force (BSF) cracked the drug chain supply from across the border with the arrest of five and recovered 11.120 kg heroin worth Rs.55.60 crore in the international market. One accomplice is yet to be arrested.
Divulging with the details, SSP Bhagirath Meena said, Swiftly working on the tip-off, one Jagdish Singh alias Kali was arrested boarding the motorcycle PB-05-AS-5851 on August 3 from village Madhre with the recovery of 20 gm heroin and further during the preliminary investigation, another 600 gm heroin was recovered wrapped in a yellow colour packet and dumped under the ground, near Choki Ullo Ke across the fencing near Indo-Pak border, in a joint operation with the 136 Bn BSF. Again on, August 11, 10 kg heroin of the value of Rs.53.10 crore was recovered near the zero line Burji No.183/2, Gate No.183, wrapped in yellow colour packets in a plastic bag.
In another incident, a tip-off was also received that Rani and her son Sagar are doing the business of heroin supply at the fixed places and have engaged Shinderpal, Sandeep and Wilson (10-year-old) on a commission basis. Working on the input, they were arrested from village Sherkhan while travelling in a car I-20 PB-05-AA3400 and recovered 500 gm heroin from the envelope having a value of Rs.2.50 crore. While the fifth accomplice Sagar of Guruharsahai is yet to be arrested.
He said While Jagdish Singh is already involved in the case of recovery of 6.630 gm heroin, Rani in five cases of recovery of 205 gm heroin and Sagar in Arms Act.
Appreciating the teamwork of the Narcotic Cell team, SSP informed that after the police remand further investigations are on with a special focus on their previous record and links with their counterparts across the border and more clues are likely to come surface.
