Police nab one smuggler cracking links with Pakistan, recover 6.630 kg heroin
Ferozepur, April 26, 2021: On a confirmed tip-off, the Feozepur police got success to foil the attempt of a smuggler, having link with Pakistan smugglers, for its further sale in the matter, with recovery of 6.630 kg heroin having international value of around Rs.33.15 crore.
Divulging with details, Bhagirath Singh Meena, SSP informed that CIA staff had a tip-off that Prem Singh is involved in heroin smuggling from Pakistan and on raid, he was arrested. During the preliminary investigation, Prem Singh of village Gatti Rajo Ke, admitted having links with Pakistan smugglers and had arranged the consignment. Working actively on the in-puts, the police team headed by Gurmit Singh Cheema, SP(Operation) and Ravinderpal Singh, DSP(I) and Jatinder Singh, Incarge CIA,in a joint operation with the 116 Bn BSF, Basti Ram Lal post, across the fencing wire near Indo-Pak Zero Line, taking along with the accused Prem Singh, 6.630 Kg heroin was recovered from the designated spot packed in feed bag, having value of Rs.33.15 crore in the international market.
SSP further said, Prem is already involved in two cases under NDPS Act of June 3, 2017 for 1.200 gm heroin and March 10, 2020 for 50 gm heroin and 770 habit forming drugs.
During further investigation, more clues are expected to come on surface, he added.
