DM bans to carry arms during Bharat Bandh call by farmers
Ferozepur, March 25, 2021: District Magistrate, Gurpal Singh Chahal exercising the powers under Cr.PC 1973 Section 144, have banned to carry arms during the bandh call by the farmers on March 26 within the vicinity of Ferozepur district.
Added here, the farmers have been protesting at Delhi’s borders against the Centre’s three new farm laws for nearly four months now and SKM has called for a Bharat Bandh on March 26 from 6 an t 6 pm. Thousands of farmers are already camping at Delhi borers demanding the repeal of farm laws and a legal guarantee on the minimum support price (MSP) for their crops. Farmers’ leaders also said that copies of the new farm laws will be burnt during ‘Holika Dahan’ on March 28.
DM informed Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), a front of protesting farmer unions has given a call for Bandh on March 26 and labourers, social and students unions have also announced to support the bandh call and to maintain the law and order and to deal with any untoward incident, the carrying of arms have been ordered to be banned in the district.
