ਫਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ, 14 ਜੁਲਾਈ 2026: ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਹਾਈ ਕੋਰਟ ਦੇ ਜੱਜਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਲਗਭਗ ਦੋ ਘੰਟੇ ਚੱਲੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ, ਪੰਜਾਬ, ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਯੂ.ਟੀ. ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਾਰ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਐਕਸ਼ਨ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਨੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਬਚਾਅ ਪੱਖ (LADC) ਨੀਤੀ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਆਪਣਾ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ‘ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ’ ਅੰਦੋਲਨ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਦਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਮੇਟੀ ਨੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਠਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਚਿੰਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਅਥਾਰਟੀ (NALSA) ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਚੀਫ਼ ਜਸਟਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਪਰ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਕੋਲ ਨੀਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈਣ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਸਿੱਟੇ ਵਜੋਂ, ਬਾਰ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ‘ਤੇ ਠੋਸ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਲੈਣ ਤੱਕ ਅੰਦੋਲਨ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਦਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਬਾਰ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨ, ਫਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ ਦੇ ਸਕੱਤਰ, ਐਡਵੋਕੇਟ ਨੀਲ ਰਤਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ LADC ਨੀਤੀ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਮੰਗਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਸਕਾਰਾਤਮਕ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਥਪੂਰਨ ਹੱਲ ਹੋਣ ਤੱਕ ਅੰਦੋਲਨ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹੇਗਾ।

Ferozepur, July 14 2026: Despite a nearly two-hour meeting with a committee of Judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the Joint Action Committee of Bar Associations of Punjab, Haryana and U.T. Chandigarh has decided to continue its ongoing ‘No Work’ agitation against the Legal Aid Defence Counsel (LADC) Policy.
The committee assured that the concerns raised by the legal fraternity would be forwarded to the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the Chief Justice of India, but clarified that it lacked the authority to withdraw the policy. Consequently, the Bar Associations resolved to continue the agitation until a concrete decision is taken on their demand.
Advocate Neel Rattan, Secretary, District Bar Association, Ferozepur, said the agitation would continue until a positive and meaningful resolution is reached on the demands concerning the LADC policy.
