Brahma Kumaris Celebrate Raksha Bandhan with School Teachers and Doctors in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, August 22, 2024: The Brahma Kumaris, a renowned spiritual organization, brought the essence of Raksha Bandhan to life in Ferozepur with heartfelt celebrations involving school teachers and doctors. This auspicious occasion, symbolizing the bond of purity and protection, was marked by the exchange of Rakhis, sweets, and blessings.
Raksha Bandhan, traditionally observed by sisters tying a Rakhi—a sacred thread—on their brother’s wrists, was celebrated with a deeper spiritual meaning by the Brahma Kumaris. At Govt. Higher Secondary School, Noor Pur Sethan, Brahma Kumari sisters Srmishta and Dimple emphasized the significance of the festival. They not only tied Rakhis to the male staff, symbolically treating them as brothers, but also shared the institution’s spiritual teachings and distributed literature on Rajayoga meditation, a core practice of the Brahma Kumaris.
The celebrations extended to the local Civil Hospital, where sisters tied Rakhis on the wrists of doctors, including Dr Naveen Sethi, a Skin Specialist, wishing them long lives and explaining the spiritual roots of Raksha Bandhan. Dr Dipti, one of the participants, noted, “We celebrate not only Raksha Bandhan but all festivals with great enthusiasm every year. Spiritually, Raksha Bandhan represents the Divine tying the holy thread to protect us.”
The Brahma Kumaris, headquartered in Mount Abu, Rajasthan, operates over 8,500 educational centres across 130 countries, promoting Rajayoga meditation and spiritual well-being. Their Raksha Bandhan celebrations in Ferozepur were a testament to their mission of spreading peace, love, and spiritual awareness in the community.
