STF nabs 3 persons with 3.5 kg heroin in Ferozepur under NDPS Act
Ferozepur, September 19, 2023: The security agencies in Punjab are up in arms to curb the menace of drug trade in the state and the alert staff is making recoveries regularly by nabbing the persons involved in this trade as buyer across the border and peddlers as suppliers to the consumer end. In one such achievement, the Special Task Force Team under the tutelage of Bhupinder Singh AIG consisting of Rajbir Singh, DSP, Gurnek Singh, SI along with fellow employees, nabbed three persons

Harmesh Singh son of Mahender Singh resident of Megha Rai Uttar police station Guruharshai and Mukhtiar Singh son of Vir Singh resident of Chak Panje Ke police station Guruharshai seized 1.5 kg heroin and a car Hyundai AURA No. PB-01-D-3644
During the investigation of the case, the accused Harmesh Singh told in the interrogation that he had taken this heroin from his brother-in-law Sukhwinder Singh alias Jagdish alias Disha son of Mahinder Singh resident of village Phatewala Hithar police station Mamdot. However, after naming the accused Sukhwinder Singh alias Jagdish alias Disha as an accused in the trial on 18-09-2023, SI Gurnek Singh with the help of his colleagues arrested the accused Sukhwinder Singh alias Jagdish alias Disha and identified him but 02 kg of heroin was recovered from his house from his field.
The said accused have been booked under NDPS Act at STF Police Station Phase-4 Mohali and further in depth investigations are on with special focus on backward and forward links of those involved in this business.
AIG Bhupinder Singh said, apart from heroin recovery of 3.5 kg, an electric ‘kanda’ and a car being used for the purpose were seized. The accused will be produced in court today and will be interrogated by obtaining a police remand. There is a possibility of more revelations from the accused.
He further added that STF Ferozepur has registered 52 cases by Ferozepur range in the year 2023 and in these cases 11.360 kg heroin, 15.500 kg opium, 20,000 narcotic pills, 20 kg poppy husk, Rs.53,000 as drug money, one pistol with magazine and live three cartridges.
