Ferozepur, March 30, 2022:  On completion of the punishment period, the jail inmates should go out as good citizens of the country and take a vow not to do any wrong in life so that their future life would be comfortable, said Justice Harnresh Singh Gill, Punjab, and Haryana High Court during his inspection to the Central Jail here on Wednesday.

During the inspection, he checked the facilities being provided to inmates, including medical aid, free legal aid, and facilities for the care of children.

Sachin Sharma, District and Sessions Judge, Ekta Uppal, CJM, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Narinder Bhargav, SSP, Baljit Singh Vaid Additional Jail Superintendent, Shiv Kumar, Jogesh Jai, and Medical officers were also present.

Justice Gill said, I also pray to God to become a good citizen of the country with a promise not do any wrong in life adding that no one come here again in the jail and makes your important contribution in making the country even greater.

Justice listened to the grievances of the detainees, prisoners in the Central Jail. He also inspected the kitchen built in the jail and the Radio Ujala set up in the central jail which is also being used regarding Lok Adalat and free legal services announcements.  He also directed the doctors that no patient should face any difficulty in jail.

Taking stock of the facilities in the women inmates’ wards for care of children, medical facilities for women, library, vocational training center, and yoga center, he also issued the instruction to the panel advocates of DLSA, to be bound to provide facilities to the women inmates.

Trainers of the yoga camp and the inmates who participated in the cultural activities were honoured.
