Empowering Kids: Police holds 138 seminars in Ferozepur on teaching ‘Good Touch Bad Touch”

Ferozepur, May 6, 2024:  Good Touch Bad Touch awareness is critical in today’s day and age for the health of primary class students, As many as 138 seminars were held by Ferozepur police to create awareness among the students at various schools and different places, about the on-going crimes in the society under Sanjh Jagriti Programme with special focus on primary school students about ‘Good Touch and Bad Touch’.

SSP Saumya Mishra said, in this context, a seminar was held at Govt Middle School, Police Line Primary School for the students explaining to them the good touch and bad touch which information will help in identifying and responding correctly.  Apart from this, the students were also distributed the stationery items.

SSP said, “Teaching elementary students about good touch and bad touch is essential for their safety and well-being. Good touch refers to affectionate or comforting physical contact that is appropriate and welcome, such as a hug from family members or a high-five from friends. On the other hand, bad touch refers to any physical contact that makes them feel uncomfortable, fearful, or confused, such as unwanted touching.  It is important to empower the children about their bodies, boundaries and speech and with knowledge about the importance if they experience anything that makes them feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

Ferozepur Police has tried to create a positive atmosphere with children in schools through community events in which some games were played and interactions were held. Training in child-friendly communication and empathy reduces children’s fear of the police. A lot of enthusiasm and enthusiasm was seen among the children throughout the programme.
