Ferozepur police solve blind murder with 48 yrs, 2 held with 71 gm gold

Ferozepur, June 17, 2022: Kudos to Ferozepur police for solving the blind murder mystery of Veena Rani within a short span of 48 hours. In its investigation, the police have arrested two persons including one woman with the recovery of 71 gm of gold.
Divulging with the sequence of events, Charanjit Singh Sohal, SSP said, the murder of Veena resident of Chatti Gali was committed during the night of June 12-13 and the dead body was dumped in the bed. The matter came to the fore only when the foul smell of decomposed body was noticed by the residents of the area and the matter was reported to the police on June 15. A case was registered against the unidentified persons on the statement of the son of the deceased Shivraj Puggal under Section 302 of IPC at Ferozepur City police station.
He further said, a team of SP Gurbinder Singh, Jagdish Kumar, DSP along with in charge CIA and Mohit Dhawan, SHO and got success in solving the blind murder mystery within 48 hrs.
SSP further said, one Bimla Rani, 36, mother of two daughters and one son, was residing in the house of the deceased whose husband Pippal Singh is in jail for the last 8 years. She, however, developed an illicit relationship with Sher Singh, 42, of village Lakha Haji in Mamdot block. On objecting by her in-laws, started living with Sher Singh at the residence of the deceased as a tenant for the last 8-9 months at a rent of Rs.2,000.Sher Singh too used to visit her, claiming to be her husband.
He said the deceased was fond of wearing the gold ornaments and thought of grabbing the same. She killed Veena Rani, deceased with a knife and decamped with gold and entire household goods, and locked the house, saying that the dispute with her husband has been solved and going to her in-laws. She also asked the other tenant Kavita to inform Veena Rani who is not at home.
On June 17, both Bimla Rani and Sher Singh were arrested from Mamdot road at T-point Lakha Haji and recovered 71 gm gold and motorcycle PB-5AA-9948 and both admitted the execution of the crime. However, the weapon used to murder is yet to be recovered.
SSP said Sher Singh has a crime history and case under Section 341, 324, 323, 34 IPC stands registered at Mamdot police station. He said, the case has not been closed but solved as further investigations are still on and more clues are likely to come to the surface when the post-mortem report will be received.
