Ferozepur Police busted gangs of bike lifters, recovered 33

BIKE LIFTERS SSP HOLDING PCFerozepur, September 15: Ferozepur police claimed to have busted two gangs of  bike lifters and have arrested five persons declared as proclaimed offenders (POs) in various cases, with recovery of 33 motorcycles.

Giving details, R.K. Bakshi, SSP, Ferozepur said that on 14th September, the police laid nakas at various places in Ferozepur district and successfully recovered 33 stolen bikes and arrested five persons belonging to two various gangs.

Besides, the police also recovered 500 gram intoxicated powder and 600/600 intoxicated tablets from them, SSP said.

Divulging with more details, he said, in first case 16 bikes were recovered by Narcotics cell, Ferozepur and arrested Malkeet Singh son of Shingara Singh, a resident of Village Ballu Rai Uthar, Guruharsahai, Kuldip Singh alias Manak son of Bhajan Singh, Village Sekhwan in Zira Sub Division and Lakhbir Singh alias Sonu son of Darshan Singh, a resident of Village Talwandi Bhai in Ferozepur.

Recovery of  500 gram intoxicated powder have also been made from them and a case under sections 379, 411, 22/61/85 NDPS Act was registered at Kulgarhi Police Station (Case No. 103 Dated 14.09.2016), SSP said.

He further said that in the second case police recovered 15 motor bikes and 600/600 intoxicated tablets from Talwandi Bhai area. The police have also arrested the accused identified Gurpreet Singh son of Bhola Singh, a resident of Village Randiala, Moga and Harbhajan Singh alias Manna son of Parkash Singh, a resident of Village Kot Karor Kalan, Ghall Khurd in Ferozepur District.  A case under sections 379, 411, 473, 22/61/85 NDPS has been registered at Zira Police Station (Case Number 139 Dated 14.09.2016).

SSP said, the investigations are on with specific focus to nab the inter-linked criminals associated with them.

In reply to query, SSP said, all the arrested  persons are between the age group of 25-30, look to be drug addict and modus operandi was like this that they used to steal vehicles from the adjoining districts – Bathinda, Muktsar, Kapurthal, Moga, Mansa, Faridkot and Fazilka –  and sell them to purchase drugs, said SSP.
