BSF thwarts smugglers attempt to use new way to transport heroin

 

Ferozepur, April 10, 2021:  The Border Security Force troops in two different incidents seized 2.930 kgs heroin from Gurdaspur and Abohar Sectors along with Punjab borders with Pakistan.  This time new modus operandi has been used to transport the heroin into Indian side.

 

On Saturday, alert Border Security Force troops seized Cold Drink Bottle tied with Bamboo stick filled with (approx 500 gms) suspected to be of Heroin on bank of River Ravi in the area of responsibility of 73 Bn BSF, Gurdaspur Sector.

 

In another incident, Border Security Force troops seized 4 Packets (approx 2.430 kgs) suspected to be of Heroin in the area of responsibility of 124 Bn BSF, Abohar Sector.

 

Vigilant troops of Border Security Force once again foiled the attempt of Anti-National Elements to push consignment of contraband items into India.

 

During the year 2021, BSF has effected seizures on Punjab border – 158.638 kgs including today’s seizure, 3 Indian border crosser apprehended, 11 Pak National apprehended, 2 Pak intruder killed, 6 weapons, 8 magazines of different types, 146 ammunition of various calibers and 2 Pak mobile phones.
