AK-47 among arms, ammunition, cash in sand containing bag found in farming field in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, January 19, 2024: A detailed search operation by the BSF troops consequent upon awareness of a drone movement during the night intervening 18-19 Jan 2024 in the bordering area of district Ferozpur resulted into recovery of arms & ammunition.
The search operation by the BSF troops was underway since first light of 19th Jan 2024 as per the Standard Operating procedure. By evening, with the assistance of border population, at around 06:00 pm, the search of the area focused on a suspected looking object, a big packet carefully wrapped in a white coloured gunny sand bag. On opening the packet with due diligence, items were recovered from inside it were- AK-47 assault rifle- 01 No (folding butt), Magazine AK-47- 02 Nos, Live rounds (7.62 mm) – 40 Nos, Indian currency – ₹40,000. This recovery took place from a farming field.
The dutiful and vigilant BSF troops successfully thwarted nefarious designs of the terror-mongers from across the border.
