Triple Murder Case: Gangster Ashish Chopra Sent to 4-Day Police Custody till March 17

Ferozepur, March 14, 2026: A court in Ferozepur on Friday sent gangster Ashish Chopra to four days of police custody till March 17 in connection with a triple-murder case that took place last year.

Chopra, who was arrested by the Punjab Police with the help of central agencies at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, was produced before Chief Judicial Magistrate Anoop Singh. He was brought to Ferozepur under tight security late Thursday night.

According to police, the gangster is accused of involvement in the September 2, 2025 firing incident in which six motorcycle-borne assailants allegedly opened fire and shot around 50 bullets at a group of youths.

In the attack, Jaspreet Kaur (26), her brother Akasdeep Singh (21) and their cousin Dildeep Singh (32) lost their lives, while two other relatives were injured.

Police have named eight accused in the case, including Ravinder alias Ravi alias Sukhu, Rajvir Singh alias Daler Singh, Sukhchain Singh alias Jass Giani, Akshay alias Bashi, Gautam, Prince, Ashish Chopra and Happy Mall.
