MLA Sarari denies corruption charges; Says ready to face any probe
Ferozepur, June 21, 2025: Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Guru Har Sahai, Fouja Singh Sarari, is once again facing serious allegations of corruption—this time from within his own party. Deepak Sharma, former state joint secretary of AAP, has filed formal complaints with the Deputy Commissioner, Punjab Vigilance Bureau, Enforcement Directorate (ED), and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), accusing Sarari of amassing illegal wealth worth crores through corrupt practices.
Sharma alleged that after being elected as an MLA, Sarari misused his position to acquire both benami and declared properties. The complaint reportedly includes a detailed list of assets that have significantly increased since the 2022 elections. Sharma also accused Sarari of harassing Jashan Bawa, who later died by suicide. He pledged to continue his fight for justice for Bawa’s family and to substantiate each allegation of corruption.
In response, Sarari released a recorded video dismissing the claims as baseless. He asserted that he has nothing to hide and is fully prepared to cooperate with any investigation by government agencies. He stated that his assets stem from his pension and MLA honorarium, and clarified that the properties owned by his daughter and son-in-law were acquired independently through their own sources and bank loans. Sarari maintained that the accusations are politically motivated and intended to tarnish his image.
