Unfortunately, nation builders without wages for 8 months, SBSS University staff proceed on a pen-down strike

Ferozepur, February 19, 2024:  Today, the entire staff members of Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University proceeded pen down strike to register their protest over the indifferent attitude of the government as they have been without wages for the last 8 months.

Holding a gate rally, the Joint Action Committee SBS State University Ferozepur members – Dr.Kulbhushan Agnihotri, President ECTA, Gurpreet Singh President, SWA, Dr.Rakesh Kumar, General Secretary ECTA, Satinder Kumar, General Secretary SWS – cursed the government for not taking care of the teaching staff – who are nation builder – of SBS State University and have not been paid their wages for the last 8 months.

The Joint Action Committee leaders said, it is very unfortunate that from the podiums, it is normally said that “Teachers are nation builders, who can build the nation solid and strong by imparting right education among their students” but one can well imagine their plight if they are without wages for the last 8 months.

Giving an ultimatum, they said, in case our wages are not released at the earliest and also not made regular on monthly basis, we will intensify the agitation.

They also urged the government to immediately release the grant to the University besides appointing regular VC to run the day to day affairs.
