Ferozepur police panel destroys drugs seized in 108 cases under NDPS Act

Ferozepur, August 2, 2023: The Drug Disposal Committee of the Ferozepur police,  destroyed heroin, poppy husk, and tablets. The contraband seized in 108 cases in Ferozepur district was consigned to flames.

The seized drugs were disposed of by the Drug Disposal Committee under the tutelage of Deepak Hillori, SSP Ferozepur in the presence of other members  keeping in view the guidelines and following the procedure of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, at the premises of M/s Sukhbir Agro Engineering Limited (SAEL).

Divulging with the details, SSP said, the drugs disposed of were 0.230 gm heroin, 22.500 kg poppy husk, 18920 tablets, seized in 108 cases under NDPS Act.

The Punjab Police on directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is acting on mission mode to rid the state of the drug menace and the  vigil against drug peddlers had been stepped up in the past.

The youngsters are being forced into this illegal trade by elements unfriendly to the country and exhorting the society to proactively assist authorities in this vital cause. The drive against drugs will be further intensified, said police official.
