Men in Uniform at fore front: Flood rescue/evacuation operations on by BSF in Ferozepur

Ferozepur, July 13, 2023: In the continuation of the Punjab flood situation, the troops of Border Security Force are giving the help hands for local population in this critical flood situation as well as performing their primary duties i.e. Border guarding. The deployed troops of BSF in co-ordination with civil administration, Army & district police are conducting second day rescue & evacuation operations for civilians of bordering villages with the help of BSF Water Wing and BSF Boats. Besides, the senior officials of the Border Security Force are in touch with the district administration for rescue and relief work.

In the intervening night of 12-13 July 2023, some villagers have been withdrawn/evacuated from the flooded areas of village Kalu Wala & Ghati Rajoke via a safest route by the BSF troops.

In this flooded situation, various posts of the Border Security Force are also flooded, hence evacuation of troops has to be carried out by the Bsf. Despite of its own hardship, on the second day of the flood situation, rescue/evacuation work is being carried out in bordering villages viz- village Kalu Wala, Tindi Wala, Dhira Ghera, Nihala Labera, Talli Gulam, Bandala and other villages that are situated alongside river Satluj.

Troops of Border Security Force are also sharing the helping hand to protect the village from water logging by making sand bags walls. BSF troops are also assisting the locals to make serviceable the essential protections with improvised methods viz- the Hazara Singh Wala bridge is being made serviceable with improvised methods by filling sand bags.

BSF Commanders at the field are also in touch with bordering village’s Sarpanch/Headmen so that rescue/relief work is being provided in all required places within minimum time.
