BSF spots flying object near international border, search operation in progress
Ferozepur, September 14, 2022: On intervening night of 13-14th Sept 2022 forward deployed BSF troops of 103 Bn BSF heard humming and buzzing sound of suspected flying object, entering inside Indian territory and further returning to Pakistan territory in two sorties. BSF troops tried to engage the suspected drone with fire during incoming as well as outgoing movement.
Immediately, the whole depth area was cordoned and the escape routes were chocked by troops, said BSF official.
During search at night, a depth patrol party of BSF spotted a motorcycle near T- junction at Rajoke – Madar Road. BSF troops covered the road to stop and frisk two persons on the motorcycle. The driver slowed down the motorcycle and just before reaching close to the party, he accelerated the motorcycle with full speed to escape away. Troops tried to stop the motorcycle but the riders managed to escape. BSF troops fired on the smugglers, ANEs, in order to stop. However, thorough search of the area in progress, said BSF official.
The matter has been reported to Police station and complaint lodged against the unknown suspects. BSF is taking strict action against the smugglers and anti – nationals’ elements. Whosoever tries to cross the border or border – fence at night.
BSF troops fire at the anti-national elements, especially at those coming from Pakistan. BSF also fires at such smugglers who come near the border area to collect weapons, explosives, narcotics, etc. which is sent to India by Pakistan based terrorists through drones.
BSF practices zero tolerance against the smugglers and anti – national elements, who are involved in smuggling of arms, explosive and narcotics, said BSF PRO Punjab Frontier.
