2 MARKFED officials dismissed over Rs.3.11 embezzlement in wheat stocks
Ferozepur, January 15, 2022: Two Markfed officials, – Lovepreet Singh Field Officer (Preservation) and Surinder Kumar, Field Officer(General) posted at Guruharsahai have been dismissed for the discrepancies that surfaced during the physical verification at Guruharsahai Branch.
The officials are absconding after the shortage of 23,932 bags of wheat valuing Rs.3.11 crore. An intimation to the police has also been given on detection of this heavy shortage but the investigations are still on, and FIR is yet to be registered.
On notice of the shortage, a physical verification was conducted by a team of Markfed HO under the supervision of Chief Internal Auditor.
However, taking the seriousness of the case, the MD Markfed, Ramvir dismissed the two officials taking a decision under the provisions of the Markfed rules and legal proceedings would be initiated against them.
