Almost one or two members of every house, who is nabbed in such raids, in border villages are facing police cases. In majority of the raids, they flee from the scenes leaving behind the extracted illegal liquor.
Ahead of polls, earlier also, the police and excise officials are keeping a close vigil over such activities in the border villages and the raids lead to 4.15 lac ltr illicit liquor recovery from riverine belt of Sutlej in Ferozepur.
