Ferozepur witnesses dip in COVID-19 cases on third consecutive day

Ferozepur, June 1, 2021:  On the third consecutive day, the dip in Corona positive cases in the district has been reported.  On Tuesday, 87 positive cases and two deaths have been reported with recovery of 155 persons.

It is pertinent to mention that during the month of May, the deaths have been 232 per cent more than April while recovery has increased to 206 per cent.

The district administration has urged the citizens to maintain this status by following strictly the Covid behavior appropriate, to win over the fight against coronavirus.

With two deaths today of 66 years female and 73 years male from Ferozepur Urban and Gurubasahai blocks, the total tally has reached 403.  In all, 33 – 3 containment and 30 micro-containment zones continued to be under observation of the health department.

As per the report, 1,74,011 samples were taken in the district since the outbreak of virus, out of which 1,60,532 were found negative, 12,890 positive while 10,954 recovered and 1,472 are active cases.  However, report of 650 samples take is yet to be received.

In the vaccination drive, today 637 persons were given Covid vaccine making the total as on date to 1,22,794 persons including the front-line and health workers taking the total  vaccination.
