Punjab Federation of Arthias Association to support Bharat Bandh call by farmers
Ferozepur, March 25, 2021: Punjab Federation of Arthias Association has announced to support the call by Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), a front of protesting farmer unions –for Bandh on March 26, said Vijay Kalra, President PFAA.
On March 26, the whole arthias in the state will join the protest of the farmers on the Bandh call on March 26. The farmers’ body has attributed the crisis in the agriculture sector to non-remunerative farming and price manipulation at the APMC markets by vested interests.
Kalra said, our CM Punjab has written a detailed letter to PM that he stands with the farmers for their demands. CM also assured to make the payment through the arthias.
He said, we are calling the meeting of office bearers at Muktsar and Baghapurana to decide about the further course of action to be taken over various demands, the main among the releasing of payment to the farmers through the Arthias. He made it clear that it is never the demand of the farmers.
Kalra said, we fully support the farmers’ protest over their demand for repealing of three laws and electricity bill and fixing of MSP for all crops. He also rejected the demand of the central government for the land record of the farmers.
He said, we will wait for a week’s time and decide to announce to proceed on strike which will continue till our demands are not accepted regarding pending payments from FCI. He advised the Centre government to withdraw the three laws to support the Punjab farmers.
