Under CASO, police conduct raids at 52 places in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, March 13, 2023: The Ferozepur police was seen in action today in its drive against drugs, under CASO – Cordon and Search Operation, campaign and the raids were conducted at 52 places including 25 at Makhu, in the district, early morning at one time at all the places, at crime and drug infected hotspots to nab the gangsters, smugglers, bad elements disturbing the social fabric of the society.
SP(D) said, in Ferozepur, as per directions of DIG Ranjit Dhillon, the raids under CASO were conducted at 52 places in Ferozepur district and a list of sensitive places and suspected persons was already prepared who are on the radar of the police. The list cannot be disclosed at this stage.
Today, the raid was conducted at Basti Tankan Wali at one of the gangster Chander alias Chandu, who was found locked. Another raid was at gangster Lakhbir Singh urf Landa at Makhu. However, the raid will be conducted again shortly.
He said, CASO will be a regular campaign in the district aimed at deterring anti-social elements and instilling a sense of security and safety in public with priority on making Ferozepur a drug-free district by eliminating gangster culture, maintaining law and order. These kinds of operations at mass-scale level not only help in infusing fear among anti-social elements, but also boost public confidence, he added.
He said, the recovery was 30 gm chitta powder in Guruharsahai, 20 gm in Mallanwala, 300 ltr lahan recovery in Mamdot and recovery of one mining parcha in Mallanwala, one tipper, one JCB, one tractor trolley. However, the detailed dossier is being prepared about the suspects.
