Surprise search operation in Central Jail, three mobiles recovered
Ferozepur, January 23, 2019: During the search operation in Central Jail today, on a tip-off by the police, a search operation was carried out by a team of 150 police cops and recovered three mobile phones putting a big question mark on the security arrangements of the jail.
Smuggling in jail of mobiles and drugs has become a common figure as in the past number of such recoveries have been made and nothing has come on surface so far as the connivance of jail official is concerned as without their knowledge, it is not possible the reaching of mobiles to the barracks after passing so many check barriers.
As per the information, the surprise checking was conducted by Rajinder Singh Assistant Superintendent along with the police and one mobile Samsung brand with battery but without SIM was recovered from Jaswant Singh and one from Gurpreet Singh with Airtel SIM while the third one from barrack number 4 as unclaimed of Samsung with Idea SIM.
A case under Section 52-A of Prisons Act was registered against Jaswant Singh and Gurpeet Singh under trials along with one unidentified person, at the Police Station, Ferozepur City and Sharma Singh has been appointed as IO to investigate into the cases.
