Farmer outfits to celebrate May Day at Shambu-Khanori Borders

Ferozepur, April 30, 2024:  The farmers sitting at Shambu-Khanori borders under the Rail Roko programme under the banner of Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) have decided to celebrate May Day at Shambu-Khanori borders on May 1.

Hundreds of trains are daily cancelled, diverted, short-terminated or short-originated causing huge losses to the railways by way of return or refund of tickets booked in advance besides causing inconvenience to the public

The protest has caused a huge loss to the railways by way of refund to the passengers and in further bookings given on-going protest.  Due to the agitation, the routes of various trains were diverted. Notably, Shambhu is the gateway to Punjab from the national capital via Haryana.

After winning the battle of three farm laws by sitting on dharna in Delhi for more than one year, the farmers have now squatted The farmers squatted on railway tracks at Shambu railway station demanding the release of three farmers held by the Haryana Police besides notification on MSP besides MSP legal guarantee and debt waiver.

The farmer leaders have appealed to the farmers, labourers, youths, and female family members to participate in the protest on May 1.
