SBS Campus Open Badminton Tournament was successfully organised
Ferozepur, April 23, 2016: 5-days Open Badminton Tournament was organised at Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus, Ferozepur. Players of various age groups participated in this Tournament includes Students and Teachers of all Departments of Engineering Wing, Polytechnic Wing, Management Wing, School Wing and Staff Children.
This tournament was organised under the directions of Dr. Krishan Saluja (Coordinator Badminton) and Dr. Raminder Pal Singh, Mr. Shivam Kansal (President & Manager of Badminton Team).
Mr. Ekam Dhamija from third year B. Tech. Mechanical Engineering and Ms Devanshi Kushwah of second year B. Tech. CSE emerged Champions in the Boy’s and Girls Singles categories respectively. Runner’s Up trophies in Boy’s and Girls Singles categories were won by Mr. Shashi Bhushan from second year B. Tech. Mechanical Engineering and Ms. Harleen Kaur from second year B Tech Civil Engg.
In Boys Double’s category, Mr. Ekam Dhamija and Mr. Gagan from third year B. Tech. Mechanical Engg.won the Gold Medal, whereas the Silver Medal was won by Mr Masroor and Mr. Nasim from third year B. Tech. Mechanical Engg. In Girls Double’s category, Ms. Devanshi and Ms Sheetal from second year CSE and Chemical Engg won the Gold Medal, whereas the Silver Medal was won by Ms Tasveer and Ms Antima from second year Mechanical Engg. and CSE.
Mr Amitoj Singh, student of eighth class of St. Joseph Convent School and son of Prof. Gazal Preet Singh, won Gold Medal in Staff Kids Boys Category. Mr. Kartik Sharma studying in seventh standard in Delhi Public School and son of Prof Rakesh Kumar won silver medal in this category.
During the prize distribution ceremony, Dr T S Sidhu, Campus Director gave away medals, trophies, certificates and cash prizes to all the winners in various categories. He appreciated the efforts of Prof Gazal Preet Singh, Dean Sports and Dr V S Bhullar, DPE for successfully organising this Badminton Tournament. The efforts of organizing committee comprising, Mr. Shivam Kansal (President & Manager of Badminton Team), Mr. Fayiez Ahmed (Secretory) Mr. Vikramjeet Singh (Accountant), Miss. Devanshi Kushwah (Head Decoration Committee), Miss. Yukti Arya (Head of Award & Certification Committee) and Miss. Harleen Kaur (Member of Decoration Committee) were highly appreciated.
To bless the players Prof. Gazal Preet Singh (Dean Sports), Dr. V. S. Bhullar, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Ms Navdeep Kaur and Mr Balwinder Singh Mohi were also present during prize distribution ceremony.
