Ferozepur, January 5, 2023: The statewide protests continued on the second day on two days’ call by the Sanjha Morcha for January 3 & 4 and other organizations, to register their protest by holding demonstrations and burnt effigies of the AAP government.

The statewide protest would now be followed by huge gathering of various farm unions in the village on January 6 at the bhog ceremony of Rajvir Singh, who died a few days back allegedly due to pollution produced by the plant.   Besides closure of the factory which originated the protests, the unions are also demanding withdrawal of FIRs against the protesters.

The protesters sitting on dharna since July 24, are having the stock demand of closure of the ethanol plant at Mansurwala village in Zira.

The statewide protest was held at 18 toll plazas on the 20th day in 9 districts on 39th day, the effigies of Bhgwant Mann government were burnt.

The fact finding teams have collected another 32 blood samples, 10 feed samples 12 milk samples, 9 feed samplles and 30 excreta samples, said Sagar Setia, ADC(G) while reviewing the progress with the Committee members through a Webinar.   He said, all the four committees have completed the paper instead of going to the field and the committee will complete the work of collecting the water samples shortly.

However, there was no update on today,  on the progress of the Committees.
