Police cracks attempt to damage Gurdwara case within 72 hrs

Ferozepur, September 1, 2017: The Ferozepur police claimed to have cracked the incidence of attempt to damage Gurdwara on August 28, and hurting the sentiments of the people, in village Dhindsa near Ferozepur, within 72 hours, by the anti-social elements when the situation has become tense, after the announcement of verdict on Dera Sirsa Chief, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, by the CBI Court at Panchkula, on Augusut 25.

 

A case under Sections 295, 436, 511, 427 and 34 of IPC was registered against the unidentified persons at Ghall Khurd police station on the statement of Gurdev Singh Granthi of Gurdwara in village Dhindsa.

 

Giving this information, DSP Jaspal Singh informed that on August 28, between 1 pm to 2 pm, some anti-social elements tried to tried to put on fire the Gurdwara in village Dhindsa with intention to disturb the peace by hurting the religious sentiments of particular community.  With the timely intervention of ‘granthi’ – Gurdev Singh, the major incident of attempt to put on fire the gurdwara by sprinkling of petrol on the doors, was controlled.

 

The incident took place around 3 pm when a CBI court was in session to pronounce the quantum of punishment against the Dera Sacha Sauda chief.

                  

 

The police actively working on the incident constituted the team led by Jaspal Singh, DSP Rural with Hardevpreet Singh Inspector, SHO Ghall Khurd and Inspecor Avar Singh Incharge CIA Staff.  After holding the indepth investigation, keeping in view the seriousness of case, arrested Pardeep Kumar alias Neeta Mahajan son of Monohr Lal of village Dhindsa on August 31.

 

DSP further stated that during the interrogation, Pardeep Kumar alias Neeta had admitted having put on fire by sprinkling the petrol under the doors, taken from his motorcycle in empty bottle of cold driniks  Limca, in the room where Guru Granth Sahib was kept and later on, he himself created hue and cry in the village.  He also admitted that incident of fire by him at the railway station.

 

He further said that police remand will be requested by presenting the accused in the court for interrogation to bring the factual position on surface and more clues are expected to come out relating to the incident.
