One booked for giving fake air tickets to Ferozepur men
Ferozepur, July 9, 2023: The accused identified as Ashish Kumar has been booked for duping on the pretext of booking the fake airline tickets by cheating for Rs.1.55 lac to Ferozepur men.
On suspecting something amiss, the matter was reported to the police by Malkit Singh of village Dulchi Ke in Ferozepur whose friend Lakhbir Chand of Begowal in Faridkot, was interested to go to Canada and Visa was received and had intimacy with the accused identified as Ashish Kumar of Ferozepur. The ticket for Canada was booked by him for September 7, 2022 and the payment was made by the complainant for the ticket to his friend for Vancouver (Canada) through Google Pay, which was later on found to be fake. On demanding back the amount, the accused indicated that we have to cheat and we have cheated you. In another case, Jaspreet Singh whose younger brother Rupinderjit Singh was interested to go abroad and the amount was paid in the bank and later on, this too was found to be fake
As per the report by Economic Crime Wing, Ashish has been found to be guilty for giving fake online airline tickets on cross-checking online and cheating with Rs.1.55 lac with the complainants, who are already in jail while Danish and Raj Kumar have not been found to be guilty.
Divulging with details, SP Randhir Kumar said, SP further informed that during the year 2022, 10 travel agents were booked and during the current year as on date, 13 travel agents have been booked for illegal activities. He said, as per directions of the DC and SSP, a team of SDM and DSP has been constituted to look into the working of Travel Agents and Immigration centres in Ferozepur with special focus on proper registration and valid authorisation documents.

Making an appeal to the people to be aware of travel phishing scams, SP advised the people to get their air tickets booked through only the registered travel agents only to avoid any fraud and easy to catch them in the case of cheating.
