Samples of two suspected  corona patients test negative

Ferozepur, March 31, 2020: The samples of two suspected coronavirus patients, admitted in civil hospital Ferozepur and later on referred to Medical College Faridkot, test negative, said district administration official.  However, the report is yet to be received officially.

Deputy Commissioner, Kulwant Singh said, it’s good that so far there is no coronavirus case in Ferozepur.

In fact, one of the patients, of the patient namely Sukhdev, 30 years old, had passed away on Monday at Guru Gobind Singh Medical College, Faridkot.  Suspecting to be coronavirus patients, his samples along with the other patient namely Rulia 60 years old of Habib Wala, were sent to the lab at Amritsar.

A letter from Nodal officer COVID-19, Ferozpur to SMO had gone viral on social media informing about the death of Sukhdev Singh and his cremation may be carried out as per the guidelines of the government under the supervision of sector-wise rapid response team.

There was also a protest from the public about the cremation of corona suspected patient at the cremation ground, who was, however, late-night cremated at the unknown place under the supervision of district administration.

Civil Surgeon Ferozepur Dr Navdeep Singh had said that 30 years old Sukhdev Singh, who passed away today at Guru Gobind Singh Medical College Ferozepur, was suffering from multiple health problems.

The Civil Surgeon said that Sukhdev Singh who was admitted to Civil Hospital was suffering from fever, cough, chest pain and respiratory problem. He said that keeping in view the impending Corona Virus crisis the samples of the patient have been taken as per prescribed protocol.

He said that the patient had come to Civil Hospital on March 27 and he was referred for lab test.  When the patient returned back, the Doctors after the treatment referred him for further treatment at medical college in Faridkot. As per the lab reports he was diagnosed with anaemia with septicemia. He said that after death the packed dead body of deceased was sent back which was cremated as per standard protocol.
