Court summoned 23 officials, teachers in Cantonment Board recruitment scam
Ferozepur, August 21, 2022: The Court of Balvinder Kaur Dhariwal, Judicial Magistrate (First Class0 Ferozepur has summoned all the 23 persons, including senior officials of the Cantonment Board and beneficiary teacher, on September 20 to face trial with regard to the irregularities committed in the recruitment of teachers in the Cantonment Board schools.
A Ferozepur resident Puneet Sood who filed a case demanding legal action by filing a petition in the court demanding legal action.
The background of the case is that the Board officials did not consider a mandatory requirement of qualifying PSTET while making appointments of at least 12 teachers. However, the former CEO of the Ferozepur Cantonment Board, Om Pal Singh before relieving his assignment as the CEO illegally confirmed the services of the 12 teachers in 2018.
The court it its orders has said that In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances, it is duly proved that appointment and confirmation of accused no. 12 to 23 has been wrongly made by Ferozepur Cantt, Board School, in violation of Punjab School Education Board, (Affiliation Branch Letter no. PSEBAffi : 2017/9605 dated 21st of November 2017). All the accused are guilty of forging and fabricating the record of Cantt Board, Ferozepur. All the accused have willfully committed and misrepresentation with the public at
large with the malafide intention to cause wrongful gain to themselves and wrongful loss to public at large including deserving candidates to be appointed for the post of teachers. Therefore, all the accused persons are
ordered to be summoned to face trial for under Section 419, 420, 465, 467, 471, 120-B IPC for 20.09.2022.
