Ferozepur, March 23, 2023: Golden Arrow Division under the aegis of Vajra Corps organised a Mega Event at Ferozepur on 23 March 2023 to honour and commemorate the supreme sacrifice made by our Bravehearts.

The Event based on the theme -‘Swatantrata ke Sanrakshak’, was an apt platform to pay tribute to the ‘Fighters of Freedom’ as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations.

Lieutenant General Nav K Khanduri, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command was the Chief Guest for the event. The day commenced with a Wreath Laying Ceremony at Prerna Sthal in Hussainiwala Enclave followed by paying of homage at the Samadhi of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru.

In the evening a cultural and activity show was organised at Golden Arrow Ecological Park and Training Area, where an awe struck audience of 3000 comprised of school children, NCC cadets, veterans, families and soldiers witnessed a slew of aerial activities to include Skydiving, Slithering and Para Motor, followed by a display of traditional Indian martial arts of Khukuri Dance, Gatka and Kalaripayttu.

A scintillating performance by the mounts of Army Supply Corps left the audience captivated. The celebration took an artistic turn with children of Army Public School, Ferozepur performing cultural dances, Punjabi folk singer and renowned artist Gurdas Maan enthralled the audience with his popular and patriotic numbers. The highlight of the evening was light and sound show on Battles of Hussainiwala and Sand Art Movie on the Battle of Asal Uttar.

As a special tribute, the Chief Guest felicitated Veer Naris and War Veterans, who had participated in the Battle of Hussainiwala in 1965 and 1971 Indo Pak wars. A war gallery showing the valor and sacrifice of our brave hearts was created adjacent to the venue to motivate and spread awareness among youth about the battles of the past. The event was witnessed by various dignitaries from civil administration, Border Security Force and military including Veer Naris and war veterans.
