Four mobiles seized Ferozepur jail
Ferozepur, January 29, 2020: During the search operation, four mobiles have been recovered from under trial prisoners and during January 17 mobiles have been recovered including today’s recovery.
With the frequent recovery of mobiles from the Central Jail, serious question marks have risen over security arrangements in the jail. Recent recovery is during the search operation on 27 and 28 January, one each mobile including battery and SIM, has been recovered from the prisoners of Vivo Brand from Amrik Singh, Oppo brand from Nishan Singh, Samsung brand Kuldip Singh and Gurmej Singh.
Roshan Lal, IO in the case informed that a case on the complaint of Harbhajan Lal Assistant Superintendent has been registered under Section 52-A Prisons Act 1894.
Seven mobile phones have been recovered from the Central jail in the last two days, two from the under trials Sandip Singh Rindi and Davinder Singh on Saturday following a search by jail officials while another was found abandoned near barrack number five and one from under trial Amandeep Singh. Two more mobile phones were recovered from Amritpal Singh and Rajvir Singh on Sunday and one was found near barrack number two.
Earlier on January 18, two mobiles were recovered following which four under trials were booked. Prior to that on January 6, four phones were recovered.
