Two years ago, the foundation stone of the college was laid by the Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal, which was primarily approved by the Congress-led UPA government at the fag-end of its tenure. The scheduled for its completion was by July 2015 but due to paucity of funds, it could not be completed.  Despite the fact that the construction work is still going, the admission in the college for BA, B.Com and PGDCA has been started today by finalizing the construction work in one part, which will be great relief for the poor students, waiting for the start of first academic session,  in view of charging of hefty fees by the private colleges.

Speaking on mobile to this correspondent, he said, the admission for the first academic session, has started today itself and it will be a great relief to the SC and minority students of the area.

He further said, the entire faculty members and infrastructure would be available within a week’s time.

Talking about the fee structure, he said, while the admission to the SC category students is totally free, there is also a provision for stipend to minority category and backward classes students.  However, the fee for general category students is only Rs.6297 which is too less as compared to the hefty fees being charged by the private colleges.
