Ferozepur, July 5, 2021: During the search operation was conducted on a tip-off, one unclaimed mobile was found in new Barrack No.4.
The re
gular recoveries of banned items from inside the jail premises have posed a question mark on the security arrangements. This is the 76th mobile during 2021 recovered from jail. During the last year, 112 mobiles were recovered.
All the time new modus operandi is used to smuggle in the mobiles. The only preventive step can be installation of CCTV cameras along with the boundary wall and jammers for which a proposal is already under consideration of the government.
As per the details, one mobile of Vivo brand with battery and SIM card was found dumped in the ground at the courtyard of the barrack. On further search of the wood lying outside, one unbranded charge, two headphone and one more SIM card VI brand.
However, a case under Section 52-A of Prisons Act has been registered on the complaint of Gurbhej Singh Assistant Superintendent.
