Ferozepur Police and BSF seized 22.530 kg heroin in joint operation – 3 smugglers arrested
Ferozepur December 22, 2015 : Sh. Amar Singh Chahal, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ferozepur Range, Ferozepur addressed the press that under the supervision of Sh. Hardial Mann, IPS, Senior Supdt of Police, Ferozepur, Ferozepur Police in coordination with BSF carried out a joint operation near LOC and seized 22 Kg 530 Gms of Herion and arrested 03 smugglers 1) Harbhajan Singh @ Rana s/o Lal Singh r/o Niahala Kilcha PS Sadar Ferozepur 2) Rishi Banber s/o Shamsher Banber r/o Zirakpur 3) Sourav s/o Rakesh Kumar r/o Phillaur.
Further, Sh Chahal said that Inspector Yadwinder Singh, SHO Sadar Ferozepur and Inspector Kikar Singh, I/C CIA Ferozepur alongwith Police Party on the secret information Harbhajan Singh @ Rana s/o Lal Singh r/o Niahala Kilcha PS Sadar Ferozepur arrested and 22 Kg Herion was recovered from his possession near Village Gatti Rajo Ke under the joint operation carried out by Ferozepur Police with the help of BSF. During investigation Harbhajan Singh @ Rana revealed that his 02 companions Rishi Banber r/o Zirakpur and Sourav r/o Phillaur, on XUV Car bearing No. PB08H-1110, were waiting to take delivery of said Herion from him who were also nabbed by the Ferozepur Police from Border road near Kile wala Chowk and recovered 530 Gms Herion from their possession. On which FIR No.325 dated 20.12.2015 U/s 25/29/61/85 NDPS Act PS Sadar Ferozepur registered against them.
During investigations, it came to light that Harbhajan Singh @ Rana who is smuggling Herion from past many years and FIR No.274 dated 01.09.2014 U/s 21/25/29/61/85 NDPS PS Sadar Ferozepur already registered against him. Harbhajan Singh @ Rana is having connection with Pakistani Smuggler Haji. In year 2014 Habhajan Singh @ Rana smuggled 18 Kg and 04 Kg Herion from Pakistani Smuggler Haji by making phone calls and the same was delivered by him in Districts Tarntaran, Amritsar and further delivered to the International Smugglers. Similarly, Harbhajan Singh @ Rana smuggled 22 Kg Herion by making contact with Haji from Indo-Pak Border who delivered 22 Packets of Herion (22 Kg) through Pipeline from Pakistan Side on LOC and Harbhajan Singh @ Rana had to deliver the same to Rishi Banber r/o Zirakpur and Sourav r/o Phillaur. This Herion was to be delivered in Delhi, Mumbai and even to the foreign countries.
Further Investigation is going on regarding smugglers, States and foreign countries where the said Herion was to be delivered and it may come forth. ….
