Ferozepur, December 17, 2020:  A dozen angry Bhartiya Janata Party – BJP leaders today resigned from the primary membership of the party while supporting the farmer’s agitation, against the three agri-marketing laws by the Centre recently.  as the senior leadership did not have a pro-Punjab attitude.

The farmers have been democratically and rightly protesting against the new Acts passed by the central government.  Earlier also, seven party leaders along with Zora Singh Sandhu, only BJP MC,  have resigned on becoming hostile against their own party. While the BJP-led NDA government at Centre hold good that the new laws are beneficial for the farmers.

Seeing these prevailing circumstances, in his resignation letter to Punjab JP President Ashwani Sharma, Surjit Singh Sadardin, former General Secretary, Punjab BJP Kisan Morcha who has resigned from the BJP from the primary membership of BJP along with 11 others said, we have resigned in view of the anti-farmers policies of the party and state and central leadership of the party have failed to redress the grievances of the protesting farmers but no positive stapes have been taken.

 

Those who have resigned along with Srujit Singh Sadardin are –  Hardev Singh Vir, former General Secretary Kisan Morcha, Hardev Singh Virk former District Geneal Secretary Kisan Morcha Ferozepur, Gurdev Singh President, BJP Mandal Mamdot, Gurpreet Singh Patli, President, BJP Mandal Ferozshah, Harpreet SinghRatta Khera, General Secrearay, Baljit Singh Tumbarbhan, Gura SinghnLuham, Rsham Singh Luham, Vice President, Mandal.

 

Speaking to media persons Sadardin said, the farmers are protesting at Delhi borders since November 26 but the BJP party in power has not taken any decision to rollback the 3-Farm Laws.   We have raised our voice against the farm laws but was ignored.

 

I feel guilty on knowing the death of four farmers on turning of a trolley going to join the protest and after leaving the party, it looks to be our second birth and we stand with the farmers in their protest without joining any political party.

 

He said, we have even spoken to the High Command also over 3-Farm Bills for not taking into confidence the farmers community before its enactment but without any fruitful results.  It looked the same have been passed to benefit the corporate houses.

 

On asking, if there is settlement between the Modi government and farmers, will you join back the party, Sadardin said, we will not.
